Ingredients for 4-5 Servings

  • 1 package
    Puff pastry crust, thawed
  • 8 oz
    Cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup
    Strawberry jam
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Egg whites (optional)

  1. Preheat oven according to puff pastry instructions. Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Roll out puff pastry dough and cut out medium-sized heart shapes. Make a smaller heart shape in the center of each cut out. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, strawberry jam, and red food coloring. Some lumps are okay, but make sure the cream cheese is thoroughly broken up.
  4. Fill the smaller heart in with the cream cheese filling. If desired, add an eggwash to the exposed edges of puff pastry.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Serve warm
